Extensions - Screw Pile Foundations

Whilst screw pile foundations have been used on eco-friendly projects for some time, they are now increasingly being used on new-build as well as for adding extensions to established buildings. Screw piles can be placed close to tree roots and other obstacles, where traditional foundations may be less effective or indeed not possible.

By screwing the piles deep into suitable soil or bedrock, foundations capable of withstanding large compression and shear forces can quickly be created, with minimal noise and near-zero vibration. Once the piles are in place, a concrete ring beam can be bonded to the top of the screw piles, providing the perfect foundation upon which the extension can be built.
