Our standard range of screw piles come in diameters ranging from 60mm to 89mm, excluding helices, and with a wall thickness between 6.35mm and 9.5mm. Torque limits range from 4 kNm to 22.5 kNm. In most conditions, provided the top 2 metres are galvanised, the pile life will be in excess of 100 years. Additional steps can be taken for protection in salt water and peat areas.

If you have any questions relating to the technical specifications of our screw piles, or would like to discuss custom options, please get in touch.

Advantages of Screw Piles

Tension and Compression

Screw Piles can accept our published design loads in either tension or compression.

Tree/Root Protection Areas

Screw Piles are repeatedly specified as the foundation of choice for building in tree protection areas.

Heave Resistant

The maximum diameter of pile shafts in our range is 89mm, which provides excellent resistance to the effects of expansive soil heave.

100 Year Design Life

All ABC Anchors Screw Piles are galvanised or fitted with cathodic protection and come with our 100 year design life guarantee.

Any Angle

Screw Piles can be driven in at any angle to suit your designs.

Low Noise/Vibration

The installation process uses a torque motor to smoothly drive piles into the ground and requires no hammering or vibratory action to do so.

Get Connected/Build Instantly

Piles can accept full loads immediately after installation. We supply a wide range of terminations to suit tension, compression and combination loads.

No Muckaway

Screw Piling requires no excavation prior to or during installation, and therefore requires no waste disposal.

Pile Life/Corrosion

In most conditions, provided the top 2 metres are galvanised the pile life will be in excess of 100years. Where the soil resistivity is less than 10 Ohm– further steps must be taken. This means salt water, wet peat and where soils are subject to saturation.

The estimated life is based on the assumption that a loss of 40% in thickness is acceptable without adverse effect on structural integrity. The atmospheric exposed areas of the piles are coated with high build zinc rich coating system or galvanised. There is a safety factor of x2 included for the anode design to take account of variances in corrosion conditions and ground resistivity.
